Professor Adams' Service to the Community.

At UTS, 'community service' is defined as any (paid or unpaid) service provided by University Staff in addition to their normal teaching, research and scholarship, carried out for the benefit of the community and in which staff apply their scholarly or professional expertise.

Examples of community service may include:

  • Participation in professional societies/bodies;
  • Contributions to school education or similar activities;
  • Provision of informed comment to the media, or participation in outside seminars on issues of public importance;
  • The design or delivery of continuing professional education (CPE) programs;
  • Acting as an expert witness;
  • Consultancy activities

 

Professor Adams' Current Service to the Community.

Michael currently holds the following positions within the community:
  • Consultant, National Financial Services group of Blake Dawson Waldron (lawyers) - link
  • Australian Representative, ICSA International Council, Professional Standards Committee
  • Chairman, Australasian Law Teachers' Association
  • Co-Director, Centre for Legal Education

 

Professor Adams' Previous Service to the Community.

Michael has previously held the following positions within the community:

  • President, Chartered Secretaries Australia Ltd (2001)
  • Chairman, NSW Council, Chartered Secretaries Australia (1999-2000)
  • Examiner, NSW Board of Studies HSC Business Studies (2000)
  • President, Corporate Law Teachers' Association (1998-1999)
